Official scout pine derby wheels are well designed, but unfortunately the wheels vary considerably from mold to mold. Most of the wheels are not perfectly round and the tread surface is not even. Our Ultralight Speed Wheels are official scout wheels which are sorted by mold number, and then precision machined to tight tolerances with our in house CNC (computerized) lathe using proprietary fixtures and tooling. The precision of this machining cannot be duplicated on hobby lathes. A set of our official scout Speed Axles are also included in this purchase. To provide you with an awesome set of wheels, we perform the following operations: The wheels are sorted by mold number. Outer hub faces are coned and double step removed to minimize contact with the axle head. The wheel tread is lathed with True Track to achieve a perfectly round wheel, a flat tread surface, and a slight radius on the edges to replicate the look of a stock official scout wheel. The weight of the wheel is reduced by removing plastic from the underside of the wheel tread. All official lettering and markings are present and visible. Specs of wheels are: Weight-1.5 grams +/- .1 gram Outer wheel diameter- 1.16 +/-.01 Wheel width- .365 +/- .01

• PROFESSIONALLY LATHED BSA WHEELS - Wheels lathed on state of the art CNC lathe. Tread surface trued to center of wheel bore. Inner tread edge cut with a radius square to center of wheel bore. Both inner and outer hubs cut square to center of bore. Material removed from inside of wheels to reduce weight, all official lettering and marking remain.
• MATCHED MOLD NUMBERS - All wheels have matched mold numbers ensuring that the bore diameter and other wheel measurements are identical, maximizing performance. Wheels are ready to race as is, but can be polished up for maximum performance.
• SPEED AXLES - Not your standard official scout out of the pinewood car kit axles. Accurate, round shaft to improve performance.
• LESS WORK FOR YOU - No burrs and crimp marks, eliminating tedious work. Also creates a faster more consistent derby car. Axles are ready to race as is, but can be polished for greater performance.
